Are you an experienced Social Worker looking to take the next step in your career? We're recruiting for an Advanced Practitioner to join Halton Borough Council's Short Breaks Team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist team supporting children and young people with disabilities and their families. As an Advanced Practitioner, you'll provide expert practice leadership, support less experienced colleagues, and help deliver high-quality, child-centred services that make a real difference.

The role will involve:

  • Managing a complex caseload of children and families.
  • Providing mentoring, guidance and practice support to Social Workers.
  • Leading on assessments, care planning and safeguarding where required.
  • Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Promoting strengths-based practice and ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.

What we're looking for:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Services.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities and Short Breaks services is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding, and statutory guidance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • 3 years permanent experience.
