Connect2Hackney are seeking a RICS-qualified surveyor to join the Borough as a Commercial Estates Manager. We need a hands-on professional who is ready to implement, negotiate, and deliver results on the ground.
The Role
- Specialised Management: Providing expert oversight for unique local government assets, including schools, educational property, parks, and library services.
- Negotiation Excellence: Securing premium deals on leases and licenses to ensure value for money for the borough.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensuring all properties meet stringent Health & Safety and statutory requirements.
- Collaborative Partnership: Working closely with Finance, Legal, and Regeneration teams, as well as developing trusted relationships with tenants and external stakeholders.
What We Are Looking For
We need someone who understands the intricacies of Local Government property management and isn't afraid to get stuck into the details of school and educational site issues.
Essential Criteria:
- RICS Qualification: You must be a Member of the RICS (Valuation or Commercial pathways).
- Proven Track Record: Significant experience in commercial property management, specifically within a large public organisation or local government setting.
- Implementation Focus: Demonstrated ability to manage complex matters and implement imaginative, practical solutions, not just theoretical strategies.
- Expert Knowledge: Deep understanding of lease arrangements, licenses, deeds of variation, and the English legal/planning framework.
