As a Resourcing & Customer Service Assistant, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing our candidate database and supporting a high-performing recruitment service. You will oversee the flow of candidates between external agencies and hiring managers, coach and mentor team members, and ensure an outstanding experience for both clients and candidates.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead candidate attraction initiatives through job adverts, social media, databases, job fairs, networking events, local partnerships and referrals.
- Monitor recruitment trends in Hackney and the wider sector, identifying opportunities and challenges for candidate attraction, particularly in hard-to-fill or niche roles.
- Oversee the candidate selection process, ensuring thorough screening, shortlisting, and initial interviews both virtually and face-to-face.
- Manage candidate compliance in partnership with CSG Compliance, ensuring all candidates meet safeguarding, vetting and referencing requirements.
- Manage the candidate onboarding process, ensuring a seamless and positive journey from offer to placement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates at all levels, both in person and on the telephone.
- Support Talent Partners with administrative tasks, candidate flow, and act as first point of escalation for complex queries.
- Mentor and coach team members, sharing best practices and assisting with workload management when required.
- Maintain accurate candidate and vacancy records on Connect2Hackney systems, ensuring data integrity.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives, using feedback and market insights to improve processes and candidate experience.
- Work with Talent Partners and management to understand hiring needs and support workforce planning.
- Prepare and present recruitment reports for internal stakeholders, including candidate availability and compliance status.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in administration supporting teams or recruitment operations.
- Experience in candidate search, selection, and job advert writing.
- Knowledge of social media for recruitment purposes.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels.
- Ability to organise, prioritise and work accurately under pressure.
- Proactive, solutions-focused approach with commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Interest in developing a career in recruitment, HR, or talent management.
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn, with the confidence to challenge processes when appropriate.
