Connect2Hackney are recruiting an experienced NEC System Configurator on behalf of the London Borough of Hackney. In this technical hands-on role, you will lead the technical setup, workflow automation, and multi-module customisation of the NEC system to deliver robust digital solutions for council operations.
The Role
As our NEC System Configurator, you will translate functional requirements into scalable system setups, automated workflows, and secure access permissions. You will work closely with Business Analysts and Developers to build, test, and release configuration packages across multi-environment pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- System & Module Configuration: Execute technical system setups and customisations across multiple NEC system modules based on functional specifications. Build and maintain automated workflows, business rules, custom fields, data validation logic, and lookup tables. Configure Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), user permissions, security profiles, and core environment settings.
- Technical Documentation & Standards: Author, maintain, and version-control comprehensive technical documentation, including configuration logs, environment setup guides, data dictionaries, and release notes.
- Data & Environment Management: Map and configure data loads, import/export schemas, interface templates, and system integration points. Package and manage configuration migrations safely across development, test, staging, and production environments.
- Testing & Technical Support: Perform unit testing and validation checks prior to handing solutions over for User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve configuration defects, system errors, and performance bottlenecks. Partner with Business Analysts and Developers to refine functional specs into repeatable, scalable configuration steps.
