LGV Drivers Needed Pay: £20.28 - £27.33 per hour Hackney Council is looking for experienced LGV Drivers to join our team and help keep Hackney cleaner, safer, and greener - a place for everyone. As an LGV Driver, you'll play a vital role in supporting our waste services, including: Street cleansing Waste transfer station operations Gully cleaning Winter gritting Refuse and recycling collectionsYou'll drive a variety of Category C vehicles, including specialist vehicles such as roll-on/roll-off trucks, skips, and mechanical brooms. Our teams work across the borough day and night, all year round, tackling everything from graffiti removal to fly-tipping and stray dogs. What you'll do Inspect and maintain your vehicle, ensuring work is carried out safely and securely Keep accurate driver records and incident reports Use digital devices to record work Follow instructions and communicate effectively with colleagues and the public What we're looking for Pride in your work and a strong customer service approach Experience delivering waste and cleaning services Safe driving and operating techniques Ability to carry out and record routine checks on vehicles and equipment Willingness to learn and suggest improvementsThis role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions and sometimes alone. Essential requirements Full UK driving licence (Category C) with no more than 3 penalty points Driver tachograph and CPC cardWe have multiple positions available on both day and evening shifts. A reserve list will be created for candidates who meet the interview criteria, as we expect further vacancies in the coming months.
