We are recruiting an experienced Gas Engineer to support Hackney Housing in delivering high-quality servicing, repairs, maintenance, and installation work across residential properties throughout the borough. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy Housing Repairs team providing both planned and reactive maintenance services.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, repair, maintain, and install domestic gas heating and hot water systems.
- Carry out annual gas safety inspections and servicing programmes.
- Diagnose faults and repair boilers, radiators, pumps, valves, heating controls, and associated pipework.
- Complete gas safety certificates and all required compliance documentation.
- Undertake minor multi-skilled works including basic plumbing, electrical, and making-good repairs.
- Deliver excellent customer service while working within occupied and void properties.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with current Gas Safety Regulations.
- Accurately record work completed and maintain up-to-date job records.
Essential Requirements
- Valid ACS Gas Qualifications.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Proven experience servicing, repairing, and installing domestic gas appliances and heating systems.
- Strong understanding of current Gas Safety Regulations.
- Ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently.
- Experience working within social housing, local authority, or responsive repairs environments is desirable.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
