Joining the Asset Management Delivery team within Finance & Corporate Resources, you will lead high-profile capital projects across the borough's diverse estate. Role Details Position: Corporate Capital Project Manager Service: Asset Management Delivery (Strategic Property Services) Reports To: Head of Corporate Projects & Project DeliveryAbout the Role As Corporate Capital Project Manager, you will take direct accountability for delivering individual projects within the Council's Corporate Capital Programme from inception to completion. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams and external consultants to ensure schemes are completed on time, within budget, and to exact specifications. In addition to commercial oversight, you will play a key role in driving sustainability across the Council's estate and reducing its carbon footprint. Key Responsibilities Project Governance & Delivery: Manage capital projects end-to-end, overseeing procurement, risk management, commercial negotiations, and contract sign-offs. Financial & Contract Management: Oversee project budgets, track financial commitments, and manage contractual variations, delays, and payment processes. Team & Stakeholder Leadership: Direct multi-disciplinary delivery teams and external consultants. Build strong relationships with Council officers, elected members, local residents, third-sector partners, and external bodies like the GLA. Sustainability Champion: Actively promote energy reduction strategies and energy best practices across the Council's property portfolio. Data & Systems: Ensure property database systems and reporting structures are kept updated following project milestones.What We Are Looking For Qualifications: Qualified in a relevant building discipline (e.g., MRICS or MCIOB) alongside a recognized Project Management qualification, or equivalent senior-level capital project experience. Experience: Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams and delivering complex, large-scale capital projects within the public or private sector. Procurement & Governance: Extensive knowledge of public sector procurement, contract management, and financial appraisal models. Communication & Negotiation: Outstanding interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, negotiate value for money, and manage competing priorities under pressure. Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using property asset databases and cloud productivity suites (Google Workspace or Microsoft 365).
