Dudley Council is looking to hire 4 Street Scene Operatives on a temporary-ongoing basis. Working hours are: Mon-Fri 08:00-16:00, 08:00-15:30 on Fri. You may be required to start at 6am on some days.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist in the erection of signage.
- Use digital tools such as smartphones and tablets to assist in identifying outstanding tasks and reporting completed jobs.
- Removal of large, medium and small fly tips, including inspecting fly tipped items prior to removal for evidence and reporting to enforcement colleagues.
- Clearance and gardening duties relating to void properties, including assisting with garden clearances as directed by supervision.
- Responsible for the safe removal of broken glass and syringes from all areas of the borough.
- Carry out amenity grounds maintenance, street cleansing and horticultural duties using a full range of hand tools and mechanical horticultural appliances.
- Duties will include VO gang, play inspection, installation, and street furniture painting duties.
- Responsible for the security and care of all tools, equipment and mechanised plant whilst carrying out their duties.
- Other duties in line with Street Scene Operative Level 2 will include cleansing of premises, assisting in collecting waste and fly tips, emptying bins, general labouring tasks, manual sweeping of streets, manual removal of weeds, gardening duties, and assisting in the watering of flower beds, planters, and newly planted trees.
- Installation of all bins, including general waste, dog fouling, recycling and any other deemed suitable.
