About Us

Connect2Dorset is a managed service agency owned by Dorset Council providing temporary, contract and interim opportunities into the Council. Our service is built on our values of ethical, trustworthy, and caring, and 50% of our profits are returned directly to Dorset Council for investment in frontline services.

About the Role

You will be joining a well-structured and organised team of around 30 individuals who are looking to grow the staffing levels. The role offers flexible working hours and has a supportive team culture with regular supervision on cases. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and supportive team within Dorset Council.

The team are involved in:

  • Mainstream assessment and post approval support.
  • Kinship assessments (including Reg 24/Fostering/Special guardianship).
  • Supported Lodgings assessment and support.
  • Staying Put and running the Mockingbird model.

The successful candidate will also participate in the team duty rota.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in mainstream assessment and post-approval support.
  • Contribute to kinship assessments (including Regulation 24/Fostering/Special Guardianship).
  • Engage in Supported Lodgings assessment and support.
  • Support Staying Put and run the Mockingbird model.
  • Participate in the team duty rota.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Enhanced DBS for Children and Adults (we can obtain for you).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • SWE (HCPC) Registered.
  • Degree in Social Work (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3 years post qualified experience within an English Local Authority.
  • Have access to a car and be willing to travel.
  • Demonstrable experience of working within the framework of the Children Act 1989, Care Planning Regulations 2010, Fostering Regulations 2011, National Minimum Standards and other relevant legislation, Statutory guidance, Standards and Procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of relevant theoretical frameworks, practice models, research findings and the application of psychological and human development theories.
