Role

  • Complete mainstream fostering assessments and provide post-approval support.
  • Undertake kinship assessments (including Reg 24, Fostering, and Special Guardianship).
  • Assess and support Supported Lodgings and Staying Put arrangements.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the Mockingbird model to strengthen fostering networks.
  • Participate in the team duty rota, ensuring timely responses and continuity of care.
  • Full understanding of legal/court systems.

Experience

  • SWE (HCPC) Registration and a Degree in Social Work (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualified experience within an English Local Authority.
  • Strong knowledge of: Children Act 1989, Care Planning Regulations 2010, Fostering Regulations 2011, National Minimum Standards.
  • Ability to apply theoretical frameworks, practice models, and research findings.
  • Access to a car and willingness to travel across Dorset.
  • Enhanced DBS (we can arrange this for you).
