Blasting & Explosives Engineer

North of England | Permanent | Full-Time

A specialist organisation within the explosives and blasting sector is looking for a Blasting & Explosives Engineer to join its technical team.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Shotfirer, Explosives Supervisor, Blasting, Quarrying or Mining professional looking to develop into a broader technical and engineering role.


The Role

You'll work alongside experienced explosives specialists, developing your skills across:

  • Blast design and performance analysis
  • Fragmentation and blast optimisation
  • Blast vibration and monitoring
  • Seismographs and specialist blasting equipment
  • Product assessment, testing and development
  • Site surveys and technical investigations
  • Data analysis and technical reporting
  • Customer technical support and consultancy
  • Training and technical presentations

You don't need to have experience in all of these areas. The role is designed to develop someone with strong practical blasting/explosives experience into a broader technical position.

About You

We're particularly interested in candidates with experience as a:

  • Shotfirer
  • Explosives Supervisor
  • Blasting/Drill & Blast professional
  • Quarrying professional
  • Mining professional
  • Explosives Technician

Relevant explosives, shotfiring, mining or quarrying qualifications are desirable.

Most importantly, you'll have practical blasting or explosives experience, a strong safety focus, good technical ability and a willingness to learn.

Experience with blast design, vibration monitoring, fragmentation, VOD, photogrammetry or drone surveying would be advantageous but is not essential.
