Leading European Energy Trading business is now seeking a Senior Carbon Trader to operate at the cutting edge of environmental markets, managing carbon credit and allowance trading activity across compliance and voluntary schemes.
The role will lead carbon trading activities across regulated and voluntary carbon markets, ensuring effective execution and optimisation of strategies and work with trading analysts to identify new opportunities in this rapidly evolving space.
The main focus of the role will be to execute trading opportunities across compliance (e.g. EU ETS, UK ETS) carbon markets, with a focus on maximising risk‑adjusted returns. This will include monitoring carbon market developments, including regulatory changes, auction calendars, and price movements, to inform strategy and identify emerging risks or opportunities. It will also contribute to the development and improvement of pricing models and analytical tools.
The role requires an experienced Carbon Trader with a proven track record of proprietary or commercial trading in EU ETS and/or UK ETS, with strong P&L performance and risk‑management discipline. You will need highly developed commercial skills to originate and execute structured carbon trades, including spot, futures, options, and cross‑product strategies. In addition, you will need excellent communication skills to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholder teams.
This is an exciting role with an excellent salary package and % of trading book bonus.
