We are looking for a permanent HGV Class 1 Driver, to start ASAP, preferably August 2026.

1 drop, no handball. Double deck trailer. 2am start. Monday to Friday.

The position requires a dedicated individual committed to maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. Working for a very professional family wholesale business based in NG2 Nottingham.

Duties

  • Drive HGV Class 1 lorry in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies.
  • Deliver goods to specified locations in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure the secure loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any maintenance or safety issues.
  • Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs.
  • Maintain communication with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen delays.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment at all times.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver background.
  • Valid HGV Class 1 licence with relevant driving experience.
  • Familiarity with flatbed operations is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
  • Ability to handle physically demanding tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and vehicle checks.

Pay: £33,150.00 per year
