The IT Business Analyst plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and information technology solutions.
This position involves gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements to ensure IT projects align with strategic objectives.
The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across various departments to identify opportunities for process improvement and to support the delivery of effective technology solutions within the banking and finance sector.
- Key Job Duties
- Engage with business stakeholders to elicit, analyse and document detailed business requirements and functional specifications.
- Translate business needs into clear, concise technical requirements that guide IT development teams.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements, clarify objectives, and resolve issues.
- Develop and maintain process maps, user stories, and use cases to support system design and development.
- Collaborate with project managers, developers, testers, and other IT professionals to ensure timely and successful delivery of projects.
- Conduct impact analysis to assess changes to systems, processes, and data flows.
- Support user acceptance testing by preparing test scenarios and coordinating testing activities with end users.
- Monitor project progress and highlight risks or issues related to requirements or scope.

- Required Qualifications
- A recognised qualification in business analysis, information technology, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of the banking and finance industry, including relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrable experience in gathering and analysing business requirements within IT projects.
- Proficient in creating clear and detailed documentation such as business requirement documents, functional specifications, and process flows.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Education
- A degree in computer science, business information systems, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional certifications in business analysis such as BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent are advantageous.
Experience
- At least three years of experience as a business analyst, preferably within the banking and finance sector.
- Experience working on IT projects involving system development, implementation, or enhancement.
- Familiarity with agile and waterfall project methodologies.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering projects that meet business requirements and improve operational efficiency.
