Asset Delivery Maintenance Supervisor – M25 – Swanley
As an Asset Delivery Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll ensure the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance activities across your designated area of the M25 network. Your team will be responsible for maintaining linear assets, including pavements, VRS, barriers and fences, signs, and road markings.
Managing a team of operatives and overseeing subcontractor work, you’ll help maintain safety and compliance across all activities. Your responsibilities will include planning routine and cyclical works, scouting defects to assess requirements, delivering daily briefings and debriefings, and ensuring sufficient resources are in place to complete works safely and on time.
You’ll also play an active role in driving continuous improvement, identifying cost‑saving opportunities, and ensuring accurate and timely updates to the Maintenance Management System.
Your leadership will be key to the long‑term success of the M25 network, ensuring it remains safe, resilient, and in excellent condition.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supervise all work activities efficiently, including those carried out by subcontractors.
- Ensure all required information is available before works commence, including raising permits where necessary.
- Scout defects to determine exact requirements for rectification.
- Plan routine and cyclical works through pre‑scouting areas before closures.
- Update the Maintenance Management System to capture all relevant data on works activities.
- Ensure sufficient resources are in place to deliver all works safely and on time.
- Prepare and deliver daily work briefings to operatives and subcontractors, outlining methodology, hazards, risks, and control measures.
- Deliver detailed debriefs at the end of each shift to identify issues and incorporate lessons learned into future activities.
- Support the use of data devices among the team to ensure accurate input for reporting and record‑keeping.
- Carry out routine vehicle checks, maintain accurate driving records, and manage vehicle/plant defect reporting and rectification in line with CPS procedures.
- Participate in developing the Annual Maintenance Plan to ensure it is accurate and achievable.
- Drive Zero Harm objectives by raising risk awareness, mitigating hazards, and fostering a proactive safety culture across the maintenance team and subcontractors.
- Lead by example to ensure all activities meet safety standards and comply with systems, processes, and procedures.
- Report issues that may affect the safe operation of the network.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, empowering teams to explore new ideas and solutions to enhance performance.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities.
- Support sustainability objectives, ensuring maintenance activities align with environmental best practices and Connect Plus Services’ long‑term goals.
Who We’re Looking For
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
- Experience in delivering highways maintenance operations or similar transferable experience.
- Team leadership and management experience, with a track record of driving performance and productivity.
- A customer‑focused mindset.
Working Arrangements
This role follows a rotating shift pattern, Monday to Friday, with two weeks of days and two weeks of nights.
