What You’ll Be Doing
As a valued member of our team, you’ll play a hands-on role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of one of the UK’s most vital transport networks. Every day brings something new—from responding to the unexpected to carrying out essential planned work. Your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out essential maintenance such as litter picking, grass cutting, fence repairs, and sign cleaning
Supporting repairs to the carriageway and safety features to keep the network running safely and smoothly
Removing graffiti and maintaining the visual appeal of the network for all users
Setting up safe and effective traffic management in line with industry standards
Conducting routine vehicle checks and ensuring accurate driving records are maintained
Reporting faults, hazards or incidents that could impact the safe operation of the network
Taking care of company equipment, including vehicles, tablets, and tools
Participating in winter maintenance operations as required
Attending training courses to grow your skills and stay qualified
Championing a Zero Harm culture and supporting our sustainability goals

You’ll be supported by a dedicated team and empowered to take pride in your work, with real opportunities to grow and make a meaningful impact every single day.
You will be expected to work Monday to Friday on a rotating shift pattern, typically three weeks of night shifts followed by one week of day shifts.
Day shifts: 07:00 to 16:00
Night shifts: 20:30 to 05:30 (including a 45-minute break)
A reasonable level of travel will be required across the M25 network and between depots.
Occasional travel to meetings, training sessions, and work sites outside the usual operational area.
Participation in out-of-hours call-out rotas—such as for Winter Maintenance—is expected.

A valid UK driving licence
A CSCS Operative Card
Desirable (or achievable within 6 months):
Strimmer and hedge trimmer certification
Manual handling and banksman training
NHSS12A/B (TTMBC – 1 day course)
ROLO Sector Scheme 18
Emergency First Aid (1 day)
Training in plant/small tools
PPI training

Location:
This is a hybrid role designed to fully maximize team collaboration on the project, we offer flexible working where you will typically be working from your base CPS office, Leatherhead, Dartford or South Mimms up to three days per week and two days from home.
