Job Description Connect it Utility Services (CIUS) is a leading provider of multi-utility solutions across the UK, delivering a wide variety of infrastructure contracts, connections for new build housing developments, electrical network frameworks, electric vehicle charging hubs, and streetlighting works. If so, we’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for a proactive Warehouse Operative to join the team in Hedge End, Southampton. You’ll play a vital role in supplying materials and equipment to our operational teams working on multiple sites across the South of England, delivering essential services efficiently and safely. Responsibilities * Goods In receives numerous deliveries every day from small packages, through to large drums of cable, and everything needs to be recorded and put away accurately and safely. * Ensuring that everything received is correct and not damaged and taking swift action to resolve any issues. * Correctly picking each item out of over 4,000 different products, on time and ready for our site operatives. * Running stock counts to keep on top of what we have, ensuring that new orders are placed in time for the next time they’re requested for a job (minimum and maximum values). * Making sure the warehouse system is regularly updated with the latest information on what we’re storing. * Ensure delivery vehicles are loaded and ready to go, including drum trailers with cable. * Assist and act as a Service Driver for smaller collections and deliveries to and from local operational sites, which may include towing trailers. * Make sure that our team and visitors are safe when in the yard, e.g. not too many vehicles, dealing with things quickly and efficiently, checking equipment back in (such as drum trailers and winches). * Essential to make sure areas clear of obstructions, well organised and clean and tidy at all times. Qualifications * MUST HAVE previous warehouse experience handling a variety of items, including large scale materials equivalent to cable drums, streetlights, pipework, etc. * This is a physically demanding, fast-paced role, with priorities changing based on business demands. * Customer focused, with a strong attention to detail. * Basic IT skills and confident use of handheld tablets, e.g. during picking process. * Experience and certification to use a forklift would be an advantage, but not essential. * ‘Can do’ attitude and a willingness to learn is essential. * Good organisational and planning skills. Additional: * Monday to Friday, 6am – 2pm and 9am – 5pm shifts on weekly rotation. * A 37.5 hour working week, plus a half an hour paid lunch break. * Full UK driving licence. * Commitment to your development.
