Connect it Utility Services is a multi-utility service provider, delivering electrical, water and gas infrastructure projects across the UK, connecting communities and supporting essential services. We're looking for an organised and proactive Interim Commercial Administrator to join our Commercial, Estimating and Cost Control team and provide vital support across a diverse portfolio of projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who enjoys working with data, documentation and reporting, and is looking to develop their commercial knowledge within a fast-paced operational environment. Responsibilities * Maintain accurate commercial records, registers and tracking systems, ensuring information remains current and audit-ready. * Manage variation, instruction, query and action registers, monitoring progress and key commercial milestones. * Collate and coordinate supporting documentation, including quotations, drawings, site records, photographs and commercial evidence. * Prepare variation packs, commercial trackers, reports and supporting information for both internal and customer requirements. * Follow up outstanding actions, missing documentation and unresolved queries, escalating issues where appropriate. * Support applications for payment, invoicing activities and revenue administration processes. * Maintain commercial information within customer portals, business systems and document management platforms. * Produce regular reports covering variations, invoices, applications, commercial actions and performance information. * Support supplier and subcontractor administration activities and associated documentation. * Assist with commercial meetings by preparing information, recording actions and supporting follow-up activities. * Build effective working relationships with internal teams, customers, suppliers and subcontractors. * Contribute to the continuous improvement of commercial processes, reporting and record management practices. Skills Required * Experience within a commercial administration, project support, finance, construction, utilities or similar environment. * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities. * High level of accuracy and attention to detail when working with records, reports and financial information. * Experience maintaining trackers, registers and administrative records. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook. * Experience using CRM systems, document management platforms, customer portals or similar systems. * Ability to proactively identify information gaps and follow through on outstanding actions. * Commercial awareness and an interest in variations, invoicing, project administration and cost control. * Positive, proactive and solution-focused approach to work. Educational Requirements * Good standard of English and Mathematics. * Relevant qualification in Business Administration, Finance, Commercial Management or a related discipline is advantageous. * Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
