A well-established precision engineering manufacturer is looking to recruit two experienced CNC MILLER Setter Operators to strengthen its machining team. The business specialises in high-precision CNC milled and turned components, working across motorsport, automotive, and industrial sectors. Low-volume, short lead-time production is at the heart of what they do, particularly within high-performance and specialist engineering environments. This role would suit a skilled CNC MILLER who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-accuracy setting.
As a CNC MILLER Setter Operator, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the machine shop, setting and operating a range of CNC machining centres. The successful MILLER will be responsible for maintaining quality, efficiency, and output across multiple machines when required.
Key Responsibilities- Setting and operating 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining centres as a CNC MILLER
- Working as a hands-on MILLER within a precision engineering environment
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Carrying out in-process dimensional and visual inspections
- Machining a wide range of metals and plastics
- Monitoring quality and making adjustments as needed
- Communicating clearly with engineers and fellow operators
- Working efficiently to tight deadlines
- Confidently problem-solving and working with autonomy
- Proven experience as a CNC MILLER Setter Operator
- Strong background as a MILLER in precision engineering or prototype environments
- Experience with Heidenhain, Hurco, or Mazatrol controls
- Good understanding of inspection and measurement equipment
- Ability to run multiple machines when required
- Early Shift: 06:00 - 14:30 Monday to Thursday; 06:00 - 13:30 Friday
- Late Shift: 14:00 - 22:00 Monday to Thursday; 13:00 - 20:00 Friday
