We are seeking an IT Infrastructure and Security Manager to join a top client of ours who work in the manufacturing industry. This is initially a 6-month contract focused on overseeing a robust IT infrastructure that supports global supply chain operations, specialised e-commerce platforms, and internal digital transformation.
The successful candidate will be working closely with the Head of IT; the candidate will serve as the primary technical lead for resolving complex infrastructure issues. Responsible for managing incidents and maintaining system performance, they ensure secure, stable operations across both on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and security of core systems, including networks, servers, and cloud environments (Azure/M365).
- Act as the lead for resolving complex technical issues, managing incidents, and ensuring high system performance and uptime.
- Maintain critical security accreditations (such as ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus) and keep all technical policies and procedures documented.
- Lead, train, and manage direct reports (such as the IT Systems Administrator), including conducting performance reviews and providing day-to-day workload support.
- Support the strategic direction of IT infrastructure while managing relationships with third-party support vendors.
- Strong, hands-on experience with Windows Server (2019/2022), Windows 11, and virtualisation technologies like VMware.
- Proven track record in managing network hardware, firewalls, backups, and implementing robust security measures (vulnerability detection and mitigation).
- Proficiency in cloud-based services and device management tools, specifically Microsoft 365, Azure, and Intune.
- Experience in mentoring junior staff, leading teams, and providing guidance on technical workloads and professional development.
- Familiarity with implementing and maintaining IT security standards and accreditations (ISO27001, Cyber Essentials).
