We’re looking for a Compliance Assistant to join the Compliance team of an award‑winning, market‑leading mortgage business that supports customers at every stage of their property journey, from first‑time buyers to experienced buy‑to‑let investors.
Based at our head office in Hornchurch, we employ over 60 colleagues and support more than 370 Mortgage Advisers nationwide. Our reputation is built on quality, professionalism and developing talented people, and this role sits at the heart of that.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with compliance or regulatory experience, ideally within mortgages, financial services, insurance, pensions or accountancy, or for a Mortgage Broker looking to move into a compliance‑focused career path.
What you’ll be doing:
- Reviewing and checking mortgage and protection files
- Supporting advisers with day‑to‑day compliance queries
- Approving financial promotions and marketing materials
- Processing applications from new advisers and introducers
- Carrying out due diligence checks and maintaining accurate records
- Liaising with the Compliance Manager to progress and authorise applications
This is a varied role with exposure to multiple disciplines within compliance, offering excellent learning and development opportunities.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills
- High attention to detail and a professional, methodical approach
- Comfortable working as part of a collaborative team
- A willingness to learn and develop within a regulated environment
- Knowledge of the mortgage market or a similar regulated sector (desirable not essential)
- CeMAP or similar qualification is welcome but not essential
