Job Overview

Reporting to the Head of Systems Development, this is a hands-on delivery role focused on taking ownership of CRM design, build, maintenance, and optimisation — with a strong emphasis on data architecture, integration, and system evaluation and automation. You will take a leading role in scaling, improving, and automating the various applications and systems that support our business and improving the handling, accuracy, and availability of data across the business. Working closely with the Systems Architect, you will engage with cross-departmental stakeholders across the business, acting as the key point of contact for CRM performance, enhancements, governance, integration, and automation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management and strategic development of the organisation’s CRM platform (HubSpot experience is beneficial but not essential) and connected SAAS systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business, acting as the key point of contact for CRM performance, enhancements, process improvements, governance, and integration projects.
  • Translate business requirements into system specifications, process flows, and configuration documentation.
  • Develop and manage workflows, sequences, and automation processes within HubSpot to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and ensure effective lead nurturing and follow-ups.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including architecture diagrams, high-level and detailed designs, configuration, and user guides.
  • Plan and manage system integrations, connecting HubSpot with key business tools and platforms.
  • Analyse current business processes and identify areas for optimisation through configuration or automation.
  • Ensure all changes follow the change management process and have been communicated to stakeholders.
  • Support change adoption, ensuring colleagues understand and embrace new systems and ways of working.
  • Coordinate system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and training activities.
  • Provide day-to-day application support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure GDPR and data governance standards are upheld at all times.
  • Stay up to date with HubSpot product updates and best practices.

The Candidate:

  • Minimum of three years CRM experience in a development and/or systems administration role.
  • Proven success in CRM implementation and configuration projects.
  • Solid understanding of CRM architecture and database structures.
  • Experience using HubSpot APIs or middleware (e.g., Zapier, Make, or custom integrations) would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Proactive, highly organised, and able to manage multiple projects.
  • Keep up with HubSpot’s updates and releases, implementing new features and optimising existing ones to enhance CRM performance and usability.
  • Experience working within Agile and DevOps teams. Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD and backlog/progress tracking.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise directly with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.
  • Familiarity with modern telecom/ISP BSS/OSS standards and systems.
  • Strategic thinker coupled with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

The Rewards:

  • Salary: £60,000 per annum
  • 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays plus Birthday Off (pro-rata)
  • Company Pension Contribution
  • Private Medical and Dental package
  • £1,500 Employee Referral Scheme
  • Family Friendly Support Package
  • Influence key transformation projects, including OSS integrations and a new eCommerce platform, in a growing UK broadband business.
  • Flexible remote or hybrid working, with regular in-person workshops and very occasional team meetings in London to support collaboration and alignment.

How to prepare for a job interview at Connect Fibre

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Connect Fibre uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
