Delivery Fibre Build Lead- CONNECT FIBRE

Location – Field (Midlands) Based, occasional WFH

We now seek dynamic, ambitious individuals to join our Delivery Team.

The Role

As a “Connector” you will play a pivotal role in our mission to provide the UK with faultless broadband at unprecedented speeds. We have a revolutionary, premium, future‑proof product that is fairer, faster, and flawless for our customers. As we enter our next phase of deployment, we are hiring Fibre Build Leads to join and strengthen our Delivery Build Team, supporting our Build Partners and Project Control Office in the delivery of our Full Fibre Network.

As a Connect Fibre Build Lead, you’ll be championing the delivery of our ultra‑fast builds, ensuring they are completed on time in accordance with the Task Order timelines, built to full compliance of our standard operating procedures (SOPs) and in accordance with all safety legislation for PIA/NRSWA and Connect Fibre safety principles.

Key Responsibilities

As our Fibre Build Lead, you will be tasked with, but not limited to:

  • Provide day‑to‑day oversight of assigned fibre build projects, ensuring Build Partners are progressing works in line with agreed programmes and standards.
  • Act as the primary interface between CF and Build Partner PMs for assigned builds.
  • Monitor build progress against programme milestones and challenge ECDs to ensure they are realistic and achievable.
  • Carry out site visits to validate build progress, quality of works, and safety compliance.
  • Identify and elevate risks relating to resourcing, materials, access, permits, or delivery delays.
  • Monitor active permits and work with partners to resolve issues that could impact delivery timelines.
  • Validate contractor whereabouts logs and ensure reported outputs match work completed on site.
  • Coordinate closely with PCO Officers to ensure delivery data is accurately captured and risks are tracked through RAID processes.
  • Support tactical decision‑making to resolve delivery issues and maintain programme momentum.

The Candidate

We are looking for a seasoned fibre network and build expert, who will uphold the highest of standards in department and our builds. We require a charismatic and forward‑thinking individual who can champion success and not be afraid to challenge the status quo.

  • Extensive knowledge of Openreach PIA (Physical Infrastructure Access) for both overheadand underground fibre delivery.
  • In depth technical knowledge of FTTP Network Build methodologies and principals, inclusive of iOLM and other testing processes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.
  • Previous experience in a Fibre Engineer, Lead, or Supervisor Role.
  • Experience in working with the Highways and Local authorities to enable the delivery of your builds
  • All modules of PIA accreditation (in date)
