The Role
As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring it operates in line with Ofsted regulations and delivers exceptional care to children and young people.
Your responsibilities will include
- Leading and managing a residential children's home.
- Providing leadership, supervision and support to the staff team.
- Ensuring high standards of safeguarding, care and compliance.
- Managing care planning and ensuring positive outcomes for young people.
- Preparing for Ofsted inspections and Regulation 44 visits.
- Managing staffing, rotas and resource planning.
- Monitoring quality standards and continuous service improvement.
- Managing budgets and contributing to operational performance.
- Promoting therapeutic, child-centred and trauma-informed practice.
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 2 years' management or supervisory experience within a children's residential care setting.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
- Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
- Experience leading and motivating staff teams.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to work towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (if not already achieved).
Desirable
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management.
- Experience of achieving positive Ofsted inspection outcomes.
- Knowledge of therapeutic care approaches.
