Hours: 37 hours per week

Rate: Up to Β£35 per hour

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for Advanced Practitioners (Social Care Qualified) to join the Council's Fostering Team on a locum basis.

The successful candidates will support the in-house fostering team to increase the number of approved foster carers and help ensure children and young people can remain in appropriate local placements, reducing the need for residential or out-of-area placements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the fostering team in attracting prospective foster carers.
  • Contribute to the assessment and approval of foster carers.
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, fostering professionals and other partners.
  • Support effective decision making around foster carer approvals.
  • Help improve local placement options for children and young people.
  • Provide professional advice and guidance within your area of expertise.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, recording and professional practice.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Social Care professional with:

  • Relevant Social Care qualification.
  • Advanced Practitioner level experience.
  • Strong experience within Children's Social Care.
  • Ideally, experience within Fostering or related children's services.
  • Strong assessment, communication and partnership working skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a Local Authority environment.
  • Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children, young people and families.
