Social Work Team Manager

Connect Exec are currently recruiting for an experienced Team Manager to join a Fostering Service on a temporary basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced social work professional with strong management experience and a background in fostering to join a supportive team and play a key role in delivering high-quality services to children, young people and foster carers.
The Role
As a Team Manager within the Fostering Team, you will be responsible for providing effective leadership and management to a team of social workers and ensuring that work is carried out to a high standard and in line with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
You will oversee the quality of practice, provide supervision and support to social workers, and ensure that children and young people remain at the centre of decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of social workers within the Fostering Service.
- Provide regular supervision, guidance and support to staff.
- Oversee caseloads and ensure work is progressed within required timescales.
- Monitor the quality of social work practice and ensure appropriate standards are maintained.
- Support the assessment, recruitment, supervision and review of foster carers.
- Ensure the needs, welfare and safeguarding of children and young people are prioritised.
- Work closely with foster carers, social workers and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
- Provide professional advice and guidance on complex cases.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and local authority policies.
- Contribute to service development, performance management and quality assurance.
Requirements
- Social Work England registration.
- Relevant social work qualification.
- Significant post-qualifying social work experience.
- Previous experience of managing or supervising social workers.
- Experience within a Fostering Service is essential.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and relevant fostering legislation and regulations.
- Experience managing complex cases and providing professional oversight.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with foster carers, children, families and partner agencies.
