We are seeking a commercially minded, proactive individual to join our M&A origination team. We are looking for someone who has experience in deal/lead generation and is adept at working at the early stages of deal development as well as supporting pipeline management.
The principal responsibilities will be:
- the proactive identification and assessment of potential target investment companies
- Mapping & researching markets relevant to a client's acquisition criteria
- Highlighting potential targets & shareholders and assessing their fit for the client
- Preparing M&A prospect reports highlighting key characteristics
- Leading the outreach to prospective targets, supporting the lead advisor throughout
- Support deal team with research and meeting preparation
- Meeting prospective clients / business owners
- Maintaining databases to support overall business performance
- Involvement in various aspects of a transaction, with extensive interaction with clients
- Provision of research information to support transaction execution
- Preparation of presentations for management team meeting
- individual company analysis and research of selected target companies including financial, strategic and competitor analysis
What you'll need;
- Knowledge of deal origination/business development is highly desirable
- Evidence of academic achievement – a degree is strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational skills including prioritisation, scheduling, and time management
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
To be considered you must be of graduate calibre with strong commercial skills. You will be a motivated, self-starter who has excellent interpersonal skills and be an effective team player.
