Connect Appointments has a new exciting opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join our prestigious retail and distribution client in Livingston, West Lothian. This is a full-time permanent position where your role will be centred around supporting the warehouse team in delivering the divisional business objectives. This means managing our client's leading Distribution Centre and vast team of Warehouse Operatives. This is a full-time permanent opportunity working back shift (Monday to Friday, 11am to 9pm), with a competitive salary of £33,500 to £35,500 per annum (DOE), plus a range of benefits.
As such, your main duties and responsibilities as a Warehouse Manager will include:
- Reporting directly to the Operations Manager
- Managing the team of managers/warehouse operatives
- Making sure all reports are kept up to date
- Ensuring the team maintains proper discipline in terms of productivity, timekeeping, and rest breaks
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety and security
- Motivating and directing staff to help them meet their goals
- Managing the warehouse team to ensure work has been allocated and completed to the highest standard within the required timescales
- Showing a responsible attitude when challenged by staff to ensure you are committed and fully support the business's policies and decision making
- Able to implement procedures
- Assisting with training and mentoring to create a dynamic and multiskilled workforce
- Ordering consumables supplies and maintaining suitable inventory levels
- Ensuring we achieve all KPI's and maximising productivity and improve accuracy
- Operating flexibly and responding quickly to change and opportunities - actively demonstrating the mindset to get into action fast and make things happen
- Being a responsible key holder and will be put on a call out list
- Attending and supporting grievance meetings, completing RTW (return to work) forms and supporting other aspects of disciplinary hearings
To be successful within this Warehouse Manager position you will ideally have previous experience of operating as a Warehouse Manager in a large and fast-paced retail distribution operation. Combined with:
- Able to demonstrate strong knowledge of warehouse operations (including stock/inventory processes)
- Proven experience of change management leadership with proven leadership abilities
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders
- Previous experience of utilising the latest technology in a distribution environment
- Previous experience of delivering supply chain projects desirable but not essential
- Microsoft office and data entry skills
- Previous experience within retail or FMCG is beneficial
- Able to manage and motivate a team of workers
