Connect Appointments have a new permanent position for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our Manufacturing client in the Dundee and Angus area.
What's on offer?
- A full-time permanent position
- Working week of Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm
- An annual salary of Β£35,000 to Β£40,000 FTE

In this Health and Safety Advisor role you'll support and improve health, safety and environmental performance across our client's site. Your day-to-day duties will be to:
- Lead and support reviews of specific risk assessments
- Administer near miss reporting and support investigations in line with company SOPs, including maintaining tracking systems and records
- Conduct field safety tours, gemba walks, inspections and audits, supporting KPI delivery and monitoring
- Deliver risk assessment training and toolbox talks (TBTs)
- Support the HSE Coordinator with development and continuous improvement of the HSE management system in preparation for ISO 45001
- Support incident, accident and loss of containment investigations using recognised methodologies
- Produce and maintain HSE performance metrics, including leading and lagging KPI dashboards
- Apply relevant HSE guidance and standards within operational environments
To be successful in this H&S role, you will hold a CITB SMSTS or NEBOSH National General Certificate with relevant professional body membership and additional HSE. Other key skills, traits and experiences include:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coach, influence and engage employees and management on health and safety matters
- Strong ability to interpret complex risk and hazard information and support practical improvements to risk controls within fast-paced operational environments
- Experience working within manufacturing, construction, utilities, logistics, renewables, pharmaceuticals or COMAH/DSEAR regulated environments
- Sound knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, HSE guidance and incident investigation methodologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with experience using HSE databases and performance reporting systems
- Familiarity with lean management, GMP safety principles and management systems such as ISO 45001 or similar QMS frameworks
- Proactive, systems-thinking team player who can balance safety and production priorities while remaining adaptable and solution focused
- Any risk management qualifications are desirable
