Connect Appointments is recruiting a Design Engineer to design wire and cable products for an established manufacturer in Dundee , paying 40K to 50K depending on experience. This is a role with genuine influence. You'll take customer requirements and turn them into manufacturable, cost-effective solutions, working directly with customers on technical proposals and closely with production to make sure every design stacks up both technically and commercially. Full-time permanent position Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm 40,000 to 50,000 per annum - depending on experience Discretionary tax-free bonus scheme and online employee discount platform Private medical insurance, life cover and a company pension Cycle2Work and on-site parking As a Design Engineer, your duties will include: Designing wire and cable products to meet customer specifications and industry standards Producing construction drawings, material specifications and manufacturing instructions Costing designs across materials, labour and production to keep pricing competitive Preparing technical proposals and quotes directly for customers Working with production to make sure designs can actually be built Running feasibility studies and suggesting changes to improve performance or cut cost To be considered as a Design Engineer, you will need: A degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Materials Engineering, or equivalent experience Previous manufacturing design experience Strong costing and estimating skills CAD experience, with TurboCAD preferred, plus Excel and Visio Working knowledge of standards such as UL, CSA and IEC The ability to explain technical detail clearly to non-technical people Interested in this Design Engineer role?
