I'm working with a specialist software business building mission-critical platforms used across major defence and public safety programmes. They are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help shape and build new product capability across a large, multi-year UK defence transformation programme. This is not a “pick up tickets and ship features” role. You’ll be working on open-ended engineering problems where the path is not fully drawn yet, designing, building and owning full-stack features across the UI, backend services, APIs, integrations and data layer.
The work sits at the intersection of:
- Angular / TypeScript front-end development
- SQL databases and data-heavy systems
- REST APIs, event-driven architecture and integrations
- CI/CD, automated testing, security and observability
- Real-world defence/public sector software
You’ll be joining a strong engineering team where senior ICs are genuinely valued, not pushed into management to progress. The business needs someone who can take a loosely defined problem, work with stakeholders to shape it properly, make sensible technical calls, and then build it through to production. The role would suit someone who enjoys ambiguity, likes being close to the code, and wants their work to matter beyond another SaaS dashboard.
Package: up to £120,000
Location: Warminster hybrid, typically around 3 days onsite
Clearance: UK national and eligible for UK Security Clearance required. Existing SC clearance is a bonus.
Experience Requirements:
- Kafka/event-driven systems, CI/CD, automated testing, Docker/Kubernetes
- AWS/Azure, secure systems, enterprise integrations or regulated environments
- Defence experience is useful, but not essential. What matters more is strong engineering judgement, clear communication and the ability to own complex work end-to-end.
