We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic LSA / Key Worker to join a welcoming prep school in Hampstead from September 2026.
Location: Hampstead
Contract: Term time only, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
Start date: September 2026
The successful candidate will support pupils in Years 2 to 3, including key children, and will play an important role in helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This post requires strong experience in planning age‑appropriate activities, carrying out observations, and building positive relationships with parents, teachers, and the wider school team.
The role of the Key Worker is to provide high‑quality support to the class teacher and contribute to the smooth day‑to‑day running of the setting, ensuring a nurturing, engaging, and well‑organised learning environment for all pupils.
Key Responsibilities- Support the class teacher in delivering a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with individual pupils and small groups to support learning, development, and wellbeing.
- Plan and lead appropriate activities in line with the needs of the children and the wider curriculum.
- Carry out observations and maintain accurate records of pupil progress and development.
- Build effective working relationships with parents, teachers, and other professionals.
- Promote positive behaviour, independence, and confidence in all pupils.
- Contribute to the pastoral care and day‑to‑day wellbeing of the children in your care.
- Previous experience working as an LSA, Key Worker, or in a similar school‑based support role.
- Strong knowledge of child development and experience supporting children in a prep or primary setting.
- Confidence in planning, observations, and reporting on pupil progress.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and families.
- A caring, proactive, and professional approach.
- A relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience.
