A small independent College in Suffolk is seeking a Grounds Person to join its Estates team. This is a hands-on role supporting the maintenance of the school's grounds, gardens and sports facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain lawns, pitches, hedges, paths and landscaped areas
- Prepare and mark out sports pitches and facilities
- Operate groundskeeping equipment (mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers)
- Support site maintenance and school events
- Assist with seasonal duties including gritting and leaf clearance
- Work collaboratively within the Estates team
Requirements
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening or landscaping
- Practical, reliable and flexible approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safeguarding and health & safety
Desirable
- Grounds maintenance or horticultural qualification
- PA1 spraying qualification or chainsaw licence
- Experience in a school or public environment
