Waterhaven Place Care Home, Sandpiper Road, Chichester, West Sussex, PO20 2NZ

Some people cook food. You craft experiences—flavours that comfort, moments that connect, and plates that say “we care.” We’re looking for a passionate, detail-driven Chef de Partie to join the culinary team at Connaught Care—a luxury, all-inclusive care home group where mealtimes are as important as medicine, and good food is part of the care plan. With six beautifully designed homes already open and six more on the way, Connaught is one of the UK’s most ambitious and hospitality-led care providers. Our residents don’t just eat meals—they enjoy freshly prepared, restaurant-quality dining in elegant surroundings. And that means every member of the kitchen team matters.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Prepare and present high-quality, nutritious dishes in line with daily menus and dietary needs
  • Work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to ensure smooth, efficient service
  • Take ownership of a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring it runs like clockwork
  • Assist in supervising and mentoring junior team members, leading by example
  • Ensure strict adherence to food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen protocols
  • Contribute ideas for seasonal menus and themed events that surprise and delight our residents

What You’ll Bring:

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar kitchen role (hospitality or care experience a bonus)
  • Ideally a Level 3 in Catering Services, Food Hygiene and HCAPP
  • Passion for cooking and presenting food that looks good and feels personal
  • An understanding of specialist diets, allergens, and resident-led preferences (training can be provided)
  • A calm, organised approach and the ability to stay cool under pressure
  • A genuine belief that food should nourish the body and lift the spirit

Why Connaught?

Because we believe care shouldn’t stop at the care plan. A great meal can change someone’s day—and the pride you put on a plate has the power to comfort, connect and bring joy. At Connaught, you’ll be part of a talented, supportive kitchen brigade in a beautiful setting. You’ll enjoy real work-life balance (no late-night service!), great ingredients, and the chance to do what you love in a way that makes a meaningful difference. If you’re serious about great food, love working in a team, and believe that every dish deserves dignity—we’d love to hear from you.

Benefits Include:

  • Pay enhancements for Bank Holidays
  • Free on-site meals
  • Free uniform
  • Free DBS check
  • Annual Pay Reviews
  • Continuous training and progression opportunities
  • Annual Health Checks for all staff
  • Salary sacrifice schemes including Pension, Childcare, Grocery, EV, and more.
  • A personalised financial well-being platform
  • Access to a 24/7 GP
  • An enhanced EAP with up to 10 free counselling sessions
  • Life insurance of up to 4X your salary
  • Access to digital cognitive behavioural therapy
  • Personalised Life and Leadership coaching
  • YuLife rewards - get rewarded to meditate, do puzzles, and exercise
  • An extra day of annual leave for birthdays
  • The option to purchase up to five additional days of annual leave through our salary sacrifice scheme
