Waterhaven Place Care Home, Sandpiper Road, Chichester, West Sussex, PO20 2NZ

Some people serve food. You serve connection, comfort, and the feeling of being genuinely looked after. We’re looking for a warm, attentive Bistro Assistant to join the hospitality team at Connaught Care—a luxury, all-inclusive care home group where mealtimes are as much about meaning as they are about menus. With six beautifully designed homes already open and six more in the pipeline, Connaught is redefining what later life can feel like—elegant, personal, and full of small, beautifully curated moments. And our bistros are at the heart of that experience. Whether it’s a morning coffee, a shared lunch, or an impromptu celebration, your service will help residents feel seen, valued, and right at home.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Provide friendly, professional table service in our home bistro and bar areas
  • Support daily service of breakfast, lunch, drinks, snacks, and special events
  • Build genuine relationships with residents, remembering their preferences and creating a sense of familiarity
  • Keep the bistro clean, well-stocked, and beautifully presented at all times
  • Work closely with the Hospitality Manager and culinary team to ensure a seamless experience
  • Assist with setting up for birthdays, themed afternoons, or events—adding a little sparkle to everyday service

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience in a customer-facing hospitality or service role (restaurants, hotels or care homes a bonus)
  • A natural warmth and the ability to make people feel welcome within seconds
  • An eye for detail and pride in presentation—whether it’s a cappuccino or a canapé
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a genuine interest in making someone’s day better
  • Flexibility and teamwork—you’ll be happy to pitch in wherever needed

Why Connaught?

Because here, service isn’t scripted—it’s sincere. We believe the bistro should feel more like a boutique café or restaurant than a facility. As a Bistro Assistant, you’ll play a key part in creating that experience, day after day. You’ll work in a beautiful environment with a supportive team, regular hours (no late nights!), and the joy of knowing your service truly matters. You'll also be part of a culture that supports you to Live a Life More Extraordinary, just like our residents. If you believe great hospitality is about kindness, attention, and a little bit of sparkle—we’d love to hear from you.

Benefits Include:

  • Pay enhancements for Bank Holidays
  • Free on-site meals
  • Free uniform
  • Free DBS check

  • An extra day of annual leave for your birthday
