At Connah's Quay Sea Cadets we pride ourselves on providing a positive Sea Cadet Experience to young people aged 9-18 through which they gain confidence, resilience, qualifications and skills. This behind the scenes role is vital to support our charity and its mission.

Qualifications

  • An enthusiastic, can-do attitude
  • Excellent team working skills
  • A willingness to get stuck in and help where able
  • Experience of governance or fundraising is useful but not essential
  • IT Skills
  • Previous experience of secretarial or admin role
  • Experience of minute taking and writing agendas
  • Able to attend a regular UMT meeting - usually 1-2 hours, monthly or bi-monthly, on a weekday evening

Responsibilities

Connah's Quay Sea Cadets, based on Dock Road, is currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Secretary to join its Unit Management Team (UMT). Connah's Quay is a long-established Sea Cadet Unit that has provided life-changing opportunities for many young people. We currently have a number of cadets who come from all over the Deeside. The Sea Cadets is the UK’s leading maritime charity and provides a head start in life for young people through nautical adventure and fun. Our volunteers work, both directly with young people and behind the scenes, to help make a positive difference to teenagers who are often struggling in today’s world and their communities. The Charity is currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers that can support with the administration of the Unit. There are free training courses available for you to develop new skills, boost your CV and support you in this role.
