We are a rapidly expanding family-run business which includes a large outdoor Adventure Park, Gastro Pub and Activity & Events Centre. With over 50 acres of private estate to look after, we would like to add to our small maintenance team ensuring our buildings and grounds are maintained to look their best throughout the year.
Reporting to: Maintenance Manager
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Maintenance Manager across the whole estate as required.
- Dealing with any maintenance issues in the Gastro Pub, Adventure Park, Activity Centre and private houses and gardens on the estate.
- Helping in building Theatre sets for large events such as Christmas, Halloween, Terror, Foxfest and Easter and setting up for other corporate events throughout the year.
- Post and Rail fencing and Post and wire fencing.
- Commercial grass cutting.
- Strimming and hedge trimming.
- General labouring tasks as required.
- Driving plant and ground care machinery and operating hand tools.
- Weed control (manual and chemical, where qualified).
- Litter picking and general site clearance.
- Leaf clearance and seasonal duties.
- Planting (trees, hedge lines).
- Maintaining tools, machinery, and vehicles in good working order.
- Reporting defects, hazards, or site issues to the Maintenance Manager.
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with Health & Safety regulation.
Please be advised this is both an indoor and outdoor role and you will be expected to work in all weathers.
Skills and Experience Required
Essential:
- Fencing or Joinery Experience.
- Use of commercial mowing machines (both push and ride on).
- Use of 2-stroke machinery: strimmer, hedge trimmers, pole pruners etc.
- Tractor driving and knowledge of attaching/detaching mounted equipment and use.
- Time served / practical skills in grounds maintenance/Estate work, fencing, hard landscaping etc.
- Towing and reversing of trailers.
Personal Attributes:
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Attention to detail.
- Professional and courteous when interacting with clients.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Desirable:
- Counterbalance Forklift.
- Telescopic handler.
- PA1 & PA6.
- Chainsaw Licence.
- First Aid at work.
The qualifications and experience above would be ideal however we would support training in each of these areas for the right candidate.
Hours: 8am - 4.45, Monday - Sunday (Mainly Monday to Friday but very occasionally you may be required to work at the weekend or start early / late by prior agreement).
This is a 5-month contract which may be extended or become a full time position for the right person.
Must hold a Full and valid UK drivers license.
Salary: £30,000 per year
