As a result of ongoing growth and expansion, Rainham Steel, a leading UK steel stockholder, requires an experienced mechanical/electrical engineer to work at our Rainham, Essex depot.

Location: Rainham Steel Co Ltd, Essex, RM13 9PF

Salary: £48,000 - £54,000 per annum depending on experience

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

The job role is to work alongside an expanding maintenance team in the repair and maintenance of a large portfolio of rebar processing machines and bandsaws.

The Role:

  • Reporting to the operations manager
  • Hydraulic system installation, diagnosis and repair
  • Electrical system installation, diagnosis and repair
  • Pneumatic system installation, diagnosis and repair
  • Welding (Mig, Arc), cutting and fabrication skills
  • Fault finding and rectification
  • Perform both reactive and preventative maintenance
  • Periodic service and maintenance
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment conditions including part identification and procurement
  • Flexible to do paid overtime when necessary
  • Basic working hours 8am - 5.30pm or 6am to 3.30pm, 42.5 hours per week

You:

  • Proven experience in maintenance within a production environment
  • Competent in mechanical repairs and maintenance, including bearings, belts, chains, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics and welding
  • Competent in electrical control systems
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of people
  • Able to work in a fast-paced pressurised environment
  • You must have a good command of the English language
  • Must be a good time keeper
