Location: Cardiff, 2 days/week in-office.

About the role:

We are looking for a Lead Analyst to join our Acquisition & Retention guild. Working closely with senior leaders, you will bring your experience in web and/or app analytics, tagging and A/B testing, to support in developing and building out our strategy. As a Lead Analyst, you will be instrumental in the delivery of web/app analytics projects. Collaborating with a team of analytics and data science specialists, you will develop innovative solutions that produce actionable insights. You will digest and investigate complex and exciting ideas and will lean into uncertainty, take risks, and learn quickly from mistakes.

You will be using tools and databases including Google Analytics, SQL (BigQuery, Databricks), Looker Studio and Tableau to tackle some of the most exciting and evolving challenges across our business.

What you will be doing:

  • Collaborating with teams including Marketing, Product, UX/Design, and Developers to plan A/B tests, define requirements, and document hypotheses, variations, and problem statements to be tested.
  • Creating and maintaining a clear prioritised backlog, and owning and shaping analytics roadmaps, which will improve the maturity of the company.
  • Supporting the tagging processes and implementation, using Google Tag Manager for analytics, marketing, and attribution teams.
  • Collaborating with, and influencing, product teams to make more informed data-guided decisions.
  • Identifying commercial opportunities, making recommendations to improve customer experience, loyalty and profitability from site/app usage data.
  • Working with data scientists, identify and quantify the key drivers from new and established models that can be tracked, investigated and actioned.
  • Managing data from its raw format to an output of a comprehensive dashboard, creating compelling, actionable and high-value bespoke analysis that allow for data storytelling and decision making.
  • Communicating with- and presenting to colleagues across marketing, commercial, finance and product.

What we are looking for:

  • A background in app and/or web analytics with an understanding of at least one marketing channel (e.g. PPC, Display, SEO or Email).
  • Experience setting up A/B and MVT experiments, be able to develop and test hypotheses (Optimizely preferred).
  • Experience of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques.
  • Experience with GA4 and Google Tag Manager (working knowledge of HTML and Javascript preferred).
  • Advanced Knowledge of SQL with working knowledge of Google BigQuery and/or Databricks, and data visualisation in Tableau/Looker Studio or similar tools.
  • Self-motivated, have a passion for differentiation and disruption and be able to bring thought leadership and innovation to our organisation to effect top and bottom-line improvement.
  • Strong business acumen and communication skills; be able to articulate large amounts of information that are complex in nature to both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to lead analytical projects, driving progress, prioritising workload, overcoming obstacles and taking accountability for outcomes.
  • Ability to lead development of strategies and roadmaps to support business objectives, identifying opportunities, making use of available technology and identifying future opportunities.
