About Insight

About The Role

As a Staff Pricing Analyst, you will be the technical engine of Insight’s analytical strategy. This is a high-level individual contributor role designed for a pricing expert who enjoys building end-to-end solutions. You will sit at the intersection of pricing and market insight, identifying commercial opportunities within our data and building sophisticated data products for the consumption of our external partners. You’ll work across all Insight partners to deliver business-critical analysis, facilitate technical innovation, and contribute to long‑term analytical strategy. In doing so, you’ll be establishing technical best practices and ensuring our outputs deliver maximum commercial value to the insurance market.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver end‑to‑end analytical solutions that inform insurance partner strategies, pricing decisions, and customer propositions.
  • Identify commercial opportunities within our datasets to drive growth for both Confused.com and our external partners.
  • Build and refine data products and models specifically designed for consumption by external insurance partners.
  • Serve as the go‑to expert on insurance pricing and risk‑based methodologies, embedding best practices across internal projects.
  • Support Insight product and engineering teams with the development of analytical orientated data products.
  • Monitor and interpret key regulatory developments within the personal lines insurance market, assessing their implications for insurer capabilities and pricing strategies.
  • Identify long‑term risks and champion improvement opportunities through high‑quality storytelling and technical rigour.
  • Apply technical expertise to deliver high‑impact analytical solutions that help partners navigate complex market dynamics.

Essential Criteria

What we’re looking for

  • Substantial experience in data analytics, specifically within insurance or financial services, with a proven record of commercial impact.
  • Advanced technical skills in SQL and Python for advanced analytics, with the ability to apply them to high‑ambiguity challenges.
  • Deep expertise in insurance pricing methodologies, with a strong grasp of risk‑based pricing principles and underwriting dynamics.
  • A thorough understanding of insurance pricing, underwriting, and market practices.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a proven bias for action.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, setting technical priorities, and delivering high‑priority outputs that drive commercial outcomes.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for both internal stakeholders and external partners.

Highly desirable

  • Experience within a motor pricing team or specific experience pricing motor insurance policies.
  • Experience in a client‑facing consulting role.
