About The Role
We are looking for a Specialist, People Operations & HR Compliance to join our People Team in EMEA! This is a newly created role reporting to the Sr Manager, International People Operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in several relevant areas of HR and be excited about jumping in, rolling up their sleeves, and adding immediate value to an integral team at a fast-growing tech company! This role will be based in EMEA supporting our People Operations team function as well as our compliance efforts in EMEA against a constantly and rapidly evolving external compliance environment and within Confluent.
People Operations
- Being the 1st point of contact for HR related queries for employees and managers in EMEA
- Deliver the Benefits onboarding sessions to all EMEA new hires within their first week of joining
- Responsible for the day to day benefits administration, documenting the processes for enrolment, termination, life cycle updates
- Support the Benefits team with vendor audits
- Prepare employee documentation relating to organizational structure changes, acquisitions, internal transfers, promotions, leavers, salary changes & re-organizations
- Support with the administration of the employees’ life-cycle and off-boarding process
- Handle all country specific processes (planned and unplanned leave of absence, payroll administration, Onboarding & Offboarding, Data changes)
- Assist People Business Partners to ensure the best employee experience is provided to their client groups (regular catch ups, support with HR administration tasks.)
- Partner with the Finance team on the monthly payroll submission by providing the HR payroll instructions
- Support the time off and leave of absence Workday implementation and maintain employee data integrity, support the HRIS team with Workday testing
- Assist in cross functional projects/programs
Compliance
- Assist with documenting compliance requirements for each country
- Assist with documenting, amending internal people operations processes to operate in compliance in a given country; including new entities and existing countries
- Assist with drafting internal HR compliance communications.
- Assist with external audits, government agency requests, and regulatory filings.
- Help prepare reports for HR audits and inspections.
- Support with HR compliance projects
- Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and best practices and use this knowledge
What You Will Bring
- 2+ years working in HR role in a fast moving and changing environment
- Experience with HR & HR compliance related matters for EMEA countries
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Understanding of with Excel and Google Suites
- Experience with HRIS systems preferably Workday

- Professional proficiency in German
- Experience supporting scale-up or high-growth tech environments
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR)
