Why Confluence?

At Confluence, we’ve always been driven by a commitment to innovation, precision, and partnership in the investment data space. Our global footprint now spans multiple countries, giving our employees the opportunity to get exposure to other countries and cultures.

About the role & team

We are looking for an AI Solutions Architect to help turn AI opportunities into practical, scalable solutions that improve how we work, serve clients and deliver business value. This role sits at the intersection of technology, business transformation and innovation. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to identify opportunities, design solutions and deliver AI‑enabled tools, agents and automations that solve real business problems.

Success in this role requires someone who is equally comfortable discussing business challenges with senior stakeholders as they are designing and implementing AI solutions. You will help shape our approach to AI, establish practical frameworks and guardrails, and enable colleagues across the business to adopt AI effectively and responsibly. This is a rare opportunity to help define how AI is used across a global financial technology organisation.

You will be joining at a pivotal stage in our AI journey, with the chance to influence strategy, architecture, governance and adoption while delivering solutions that have a direct and measurable impact on the business. You’ll have the freedom to explore emerging technologies, work across a wide variety of use cases and collaborate with leaders across Technology, Product, Operations and Corporate Functions. Rather than focusing on a single product or platform, you will have the opportunity to shape AI capabilities across the organisation.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience identifying, designing and implementing AI solutions that have delivered measurable business outcomes, such as efficiency improvements, enhanced client experience, revenue enablement or operational optimisation.
  • Experience translating business challenges into practical AI, automation or technology solutions, taking initiatives from concept through to adoption and ongoing improvement.
  • Practical experience with AI technologies such as large language models, AI agents, copilots, workflow automation and enterprise AI platforms.
  • Ability to work effectively across technical and non‑technical stakeholder groups, influencing decisions and building alignment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguous environments, bringing structure, prioritisation and practical solutions to emerging opportunities and challenges.
  • Strong understanding of AI governance, security, risk and responsible AI principles.
  • Experience evaluating opportunities, balancing innovation with business value and ensuring solutions deliver meaningful outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in Solution Architecture, Engineering, Product Management, Technology Consulting, Business Transformation or a related discipline.
  • Experience implementing AI solutions within a regulated, financial services or B2B SaaS environment.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform or related technologies.
  • Experience establishing AI frameworks, standards, governance models or adoption programmes.
  • Understanding of APIs, integrations, data platforms and enterprise architecture concepts.
  • Experience coaching or enabling teams to adopt new technologies and ways of working.

How to prepare for a job interview at Confluence

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Confluence uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
