We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Bar Manager to take the lead in our busy venue in Newmarket. This is a full-time, permanent role offering a competitive salary, a structured rota, and genuine support from ownership.
This role is ideal for a Bar Manager who wants stability, autonomy, and a fair work-life balance, while still working in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
The RoleYou will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the bar, leading from the front and setting high standards across service, team management, and operations.
Key Responsibilities- Managing, motivating, and developing the bar team
- Delivering excellent customer service at all times
- Full responsibility for stock control, ordering, and wastage
- Ensuring compliance with licensing laws and health & safety standards
- Cash handling, tills, and basic financial reporting
- Creating a positive, organised, and efficient working environment
- 40-hour contracted week
- Clear, structured rota (typically 5 days out of 7)
- Paid overtime or TOIL if additional hours are required
- Tips/service charge paid on top of salary, where applicable
- Advance notice of rotas - no last-minute changes
- Supportive ownership and a properly staffed team
- Real autonomy to run the bar and lead your team effectively
- Proven experience as a Bar Manager (essential)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
