Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Registered Building Inspector (Class 2D+) to support a busy Building Control service on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a senior-level inspector who can provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on with inspections and plan checking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out complex site inspections across domestic and non-domestic projects
  • Undertake and oversee plan checking for higher-risk and more complex schemes
  • Provide technical guidance, support, and mentoring to other inspectors
  • Act as a point of escalation for technical queries and compliance matters
  • Ensure works comply with Building Regulations, legislation, and service standards
  • Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders

Requirements

  • Registered Building Inspector Class 2D or above
  • Extensive experience within Building Control (local authority or approved inspector)
  • Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of building types
  • Confident decision-maker with the ability to support and guide others
  • Excellent communication and professional judgement
