Building Inspector (Warranty Surveyor)
Location: West Sussex
Salary: £45,000 – £65,000 (DOE) + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits
Confido Consult is partnering with a well-established organisation in the Building Control and Warranty space to appoint a Building Inspector / Warranty Surveyor across the South Coast and surrounding areas.
Guided patch: Chichester to Worthing, up to Crawley and Croydon, across to Fleet and Petersfield, then back towards Chichester
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Building Inspector (Class 2A/2B preferred) or an experienced surveyor from a Warranty or Building Control background looking to develop within a supportive and flexible environment.
The Role
You will manage your own diary and oversee a portfolio of new-build residential developments, combining both Warranty and Building Control responsibilities.
Key duties include:
- Conducting site inspections across a range of new-build housing and apartment schemes
- Carrying out risk assessments on new applications and reviewing plans
- Issuing technical feedback and amendment reports to developers
- Managing inspection requests within agreed timeframes
- Planning site visits efficiently across your regional patch
- Completing reports and administrative tasks remotely
The role offers a high degree of autonomy, with most surveyors spending 4–5 days on site, often finishing inspections early afternoon and completing paperwork from home.
About You
- Ideally a Registered Building Inspector (Class 2A/2B preferred) or working towards registration
- Background in building control or warranty surveying
- Strong understanding of residential construction and compliance
- Able to carry out inspections independently from day one
- Keen to learn and develop within a growing team
- Full UK driving licence
💡 Candidates at lower levels (including L1 or those early in their career) will be considered if they have a solid knowledge base and are committed to achieving RBI registration.
