The Role

The Progress Coordinator will play a vital role in monitoring the progress of customer orders from entre through the manufacturing process, identifying potential delays, and working closely with various departments to ensure delivery commitments are met.

This position requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to build effective working relationships across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the progress of customer orders from release through to dispatch.
  • Liaise daily with Technical, Production, Purchasing, Stores, Planning, and Customer Service teams to track order status.
  • Identify potential bottlenecks or delays and escalated issues promptly.
  • Ensure production priorities align with customer delivery requirements.
  • Update internal systems with accurate progress information.
  • Attend production and planning meetings, providing status updates on key orders.
  • Follow up on material shortages and supplier delivery issues where required.
  • Support the achievement of on-time delivery targets.
  • Produce and maintain progress reports and performance metrics.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding order status and expected completion dates.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production planning, scheduling, purchasing, or supply chain environment.
  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Confident working with ERP/MRP systems or similar business software.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production planning, scheduling, purchasing, or supply chain environment.
  • Experience within engineering or precision manufacturing industries.
