Reed Accountancy Practice are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Wickford for an experienced Bookkeeper.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with previous accountancy practice experience who is looking to join a friendly and supportive team, with the flexibility of hybrid working available.
The Role
As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and providing a high-quality bookkeeping service, ensuring accuracy and compliance at all times.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Processing bookkeeping records for a varied client portfolio
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Bank reconciliations
- Managing sales and purchase ledgers
- Assisting with management accounts preparation
- Liaising directly with clients regarding bookkeeping queries
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring deadlines are met
- Working with cloud-based accounting software including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
The Ideal Candidate
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- Previous bookkeeping experience gained within an accountancy practice
- Strong knowledge of VAT and bookkeeping principlesli>
- Experience using Xero, Sage and/or QuickBooks
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
- AAT qualification or studies would be advantageous but are not essential
