Your new role
As a Shift Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining a wide range of production and site equipment within a busy manufacturing environment. Working as part of a supportive engineering team, your duties will include carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, electrical and mechanical fault-finding, equipment installations, and continuous improvement projects.
This is a rotating shift position working:
06:00-14:00 Monday to Friday
14:00-22:00 Sunday to Thursday
22:00-06:00 Sunday to Thursday
The salary is Β£49,474, with overtime paid at 1.5x on Saturdays and 2x on Sundays. Weekend overtime is typically required one weekend in five, with additional overtime opportunities available. What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have experience maintaining and fault-finding industrial production equipment within a manufacturing environment. Whilst an electrical bias would be advantageous, the business is equally open to considering strong, mechanically biased or genuinely multi-skilled engineers with a good understanding of electrical systems and the willingness to further develop their skills.
You will ideally have:
Experience working with electrical systems up to 415V
Knowledge of three-phase electrical systems
Mechanical maintenance experience including hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gearboxes and drive systems
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Experience balancing planned maintenance, projects and reactive breakdown work
Relevant engineering qualifications or apprenticeship training
Good communication and organisational skills
A flexible and hands-on approach to engineering
Food manufacturing experience, 18th Edition qualifications, and inspection and testing certifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
