We are recruiting for an experienced Residential AV Engineer to join a specialist technology business delivering smart home and AV systems across high-end residential properties.

The role is based in Hertfordshire, with the engineer working across projects throughout Essex, Hertfordshire and London.
This is a hands-on position covering the full installation lifecycle, including first fix, equipment installation, rack building, networking, system testing and commissioning.

Description
Key Responsibilities
Install, terminate and test structured cabling for AV, data, control, lighting and security systems.
Build, wire and dress professional equipment racks.
Install displays, speakers, projectors, touch panels, keypads, wireless access points, cameras and associated equipment.
Configure and troubleshoot wired and wireless networks, including IP addressing and VLANs.
Support the programming, configuration and commissioning of integrated smart home systems.
Work with technologies including Control4 and Lutron.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues across new and existing installations.
Maintain a high standard of workmanship within high-end residential properties.
Liaise professionally with clients, project teams and other trades onsite.
Take increasing responsibility for site activity, snagging, commissioning and handover.
Experience Required
Previous experience within residential AV, smart home, home automation or a closely related installation environment.
Practical knowledge of Control4 and Lutron is highly desirable, alongside a good understanding of IP networking, Wi-Fi, structured cabling and fault-finding.
Experience with AV distribution, multi-room audio, home cinema, displays, equipment racks and system commissioning would also be beneficial.
You should be comfortable working independently, have strong attention to detail and be professional when working within clients' homes.
A full UK driving licence is required due to the field-based nature of the position.
Package
