An established precision engineering and manufacturing business is looking for a Quality Engineer / CMM Operator to join its quality team. The position will involve the QMS Management, CMM Operation and some inspection of precision machined components, ensuring parts meet the required dimensional and quality standards before release.
The Role
- QMS Management
- Carry out dimensional and visual inspection
- Work from engineering drawings and specifications
- Use micrometers, verniers and other precision measuring equipment
- Operate CMM and automated inspection equipment
- Record inspection results and identify non-conforming components
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to maintain quality standards
The company currently uses Ferranti and Keyence inspection equipment, so previous experience with either would be advantageous.
What We're Looking For
- You should have previous experience within Quality and preferably within a precision engineering, CNC machining or manufacturing environment.
- You will need to be confident using standard mechanical inspection equipment and have experience operating a CMM.
- Experience in FAIR's, CMM Operation, QMS, inspecting components and interpreting engineering drawings would be particularly relevant.
This is a permanent days position paying £42,000, depending on experience, plus 28 days' holiday and pension.
